Pappasito’s Cantina

With two locations (one in Austin and one in San Antonio), Pappasito’s offers diners classic Tex-Mex dishes as well as a weekend brunch menu that caters to local families.

They’re known for their stuffed shrimp tacos with lobster sauce, as well as their Mexican egg rolls stuffed with shredded beef, pork, avocado salad, and cheese.

This steakhouse is famous for its seafood dishes and ribs, but you’ll also find barbecued shrimp, chicken sandwiches, and turkey burgers on its menu. Tip: If you’re planning a visit to Mike Anderson’s Seafood & Steaks, get there early; all too often other customers have already claimed your favorite table before you can make it to dinner.

It doesn’t get more authentic than Green Mesquite BBQ, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018. These days, there are four locations around town to serve up all of your fave menu items from pork ribs and beef brisket to smoked sausage links and fried chicken.

They also deliver throughout Dallas! The secret ingredient here? Owner Joe Cawley hand-rubbed his pork shoulders with a sweet rub before smoking them for 14 hours.

Word on the street is that the Mesquite BBQ sauce recipe was inspired by Joe’s own mother’s version, which she passed down to him years ago.

His signature smoked meat is slow-cooked over a bed of hickory wood for up to 16 hours; every single bite is a mix of smoky flavor and tender succulence that’s hard to find anywhere else. If you’re a fan of fall-off-the-bone barbecue that melts in your mouth, be sure to put Killen’s Barbecue on your list you won’t regret it!
